AdvanceCD vs. devil monitors
« on: July 06, 2004, 05:35:35 pm »
I have made the ultimate AdvanceCD with 185 sweet games, all of which work nicely.  However, when I try to use AdvanceCD on a Laptop, newer CRT, or flat-screen monitor,  I get an error about "No video mode available".  What can I do to fix this?  Can I do something to the monitor or monitor BIOS or settings to make it work properly?

Thanks,

I have tried posting this as a bug report, on the AdvanceMAME mail listing, but no luck.  Any ideas where I can find help?

I think the problem is with svgalib. See if there is any info for it.

Hope this helps

I don't know.... What I meant was that possibly you could broaden your search by asking for svgalib support. Since it is not a AdvanceCD specific problem.

Is the video card supported by AdvaceCD?

Yeah, that's just it.  I used the AdvanceCD on 5 different computers. (1 laptop, 3 with LCD, and 1 with an odd crt) and none of them worked. The LCD's has SIS cards.  What ended up happening looked like an error from the monitor or something that said "no video mode available."

I doubt the problem is the Monitor... More likely the video card.

Check the list of supported Video cards
