SI deluxe--finito!
« on: November 27, 2004, 02:13:49 pm »
So I picked this one up pretty empty and with alot of screw holes int he front but otherwsie in pretty decent condition.  Put in a new wells gardner 19" with JPAC/trident 64 combo and a new control panel and voila--here she is.  The perspective buyer (to be determined on ebay) will get the original manuals, cigarette burned control panel and plastic reflective art should they wish to restore it to an SI deluxe (I'm thinking this is highly unlikley but I have no use for this stuff so the new owner might as well have it)  Anyways here it is...

very nice job. you know, i've been considering all sorts of shapes for an upright. but the ol' space invaders shape actually looks quite pleasing. hmmm...

Yeah i totally agree--i was going to mame a completely coverted galaxian but the space invaders cab is more open on the sides and  gives you much better range of motion for two adult players.  I was going to add a spinner but went minimilistic instead.

Menace, is scanning, or at least take some puzzled HI-res photos,  the side art, bezel, kickplate and cpo something possible for you ?

I would like to trace those nice arts.

I'm on the planning stage

as it happens i scanned the bezel (i think i still have it) the CPO was completely shot--burned beyond recognition in spots and i can take high res pics of the sides/kickplate if so desired--pm your email where i can send these large files.

Very nice. The only thing I'd change are the joysticks. Bats just don't look right on a classic cab.

I would like to thank's Menace for the SIdeluxe scans he provides me.

now I'll have a huge tracing process that will takes me a long long time.
expect to see the SI-bezel on the library one day  ;)
as soon as real life allows me to aclompish this one ;D ;D

once again thank's for providing good quality material. this is what we need in order to achieve accurate tracing to feed the arcade art library.
