Hi all i am desperately in need of help, i am using Mamewah setup program, and the only way i can create a game list is by using stictly the roms folder, which gives the games odd titles, and not their full titles. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • What does this button do?
    • MAMEWAH Setup
Allthough MAMEWAh Setup can create a game list for mame I have only tested it with Command line MAME with the default set up so make sure you have Windows Command Line version of MAME, and put all your ROMS in the rom folder in your MAME dir.

Run MAMEWAh Setup and set the list generation method to 'ROM Folder Vs List Info'.

Now in order to make the list, MAME must be named 'MAME.EXE'.
Set the 'Emulator Executable' to MAME.EXE and the game list should get created automatically with the corect names etc.

You may get asked if you want to add none working games to the list. I can not remember what this does because I started it and then got side tracked doing something else and forgot about it  :-\

Don't put any other info into the program e.g Rom Folder.
If you start from a clean emulator config that you have never used, ROM folder Vs List info should allready be selected so just set the Emulator Executable to MAME.EXE.
The Rom folder and artwork folders should be set up for you if you have your roms in the roms folder in the mame dir. ;D

  • Burp!?
What if you are using advanceMame with Mamewah? I have this same problem. If I choose Roms only, I can make the list, if I choose Rom vs List or something, I cant. If I try to refresh the list in mamewah, I get an error saying that -listinfo is not a known command. (Its an advanceMame error)

If I find out whats going on, I will let you  know :)

I have never used advancemame before so I don't know much about it. But I have just found an old version on my PC and I have been playing around with it.

Managed to get it working with the next version of MAMEWAH setup (allthough the screen is really small it does work :D)

Also altered MAMEWAH setup so you can specify the ROM folder before setting the EXE. And workng on Rom folder only creating a list with correct names.
