Couple Questions. Best mame to run? CHD? Speed ups?

I thought I would drop this all in one msg.. I have a few questions in regards to mame. ok.

My pc is 200+ Athlon with 256 mb ddr and geforce 128mb card. what version is best to run? I have been running fast mame as of late. but I have always liked smooth mame too. And now I see no name mame has build it tweaks or something? can someone explain to me the various versions of mame I can run and whats good and bad about them?

CHD-How do I run these? what do i need? please explain to me I am using Mamewah and the CHD files don't seem to want to run.

CHD speed ups? mame speed? I have been reading about ppl running the blitz games etc.. through these speed ups? can someone explain in english what this means and how it works? I read a previous post and I could not quite understand..please advise.

CLRMAME-ok.. I want to have my mame listing in mamewah complete...by that I mean I wish to use CLRMAME or something to verify all my games. Is there a link on how to use this program? O have tried it before and I actually screwed up my roms. All that I want is to know if I have any bad roms. And I just want to list one version of each game in the list not like 10/.... anyone explain.. I am confused with this clone etc...

Artwork-is there any where I can download every single mame snapshot in a zip? also is there a way to use CLRMAME to check for missing snaps, titles etc?
