joysticks come loose

(1/2) > >>

Shieldwolf:
I notice that after playing on my cab for a whitle the screws that hold myj joystick in place start to come loose and I have to tighten the hell out of them again. Anyone else have this problem? Did I install them incorrectly?

SirPeale:
Be more specific.  Are they wood screws from the underside holding the joys to the wood?  Are they bolts that go thru into T nuts?  Do they go from the top of the CP down to the underside to nuts?

Are you using lock washers?  If not, start.

Apollo:
Yeah sounds like you need either lock washers ( the serated kind ) or split washers work just fine ( that's what I use ).

Ken Layton:
On control panels I build, I generally drill all the way through the plexi and wood. Then I use carriage bolts with nylock nuts.

krick:
I second the vote for Nylock nuts.

When I was younger and used to skateboard a lot, every nut on my board was nylock and I never had one come off.
