Help me Fool my Printer
« on: June 15, 2004, 07:41:38 am »
Hi all

I have Adobe Ilustrator, and I downloaded a marquee and sized it to the size of my marquee(23x6).  I have paper that is long enough length wise that I got from a friend who works for a printer.  But I can't seem to get adobe to continue printing the whole image.  Is there a way to do this?  I have a canon i560.  I thought if maybe I selected banner prinitng but I don't see that as a option.  Any help would be appriciated.

In Illustrator, go to File>Print Setup.
Hit the Properties button beside your printers name.

The Properties will be different for every printer, but most will be relatively the same. With this in mind...

my printer (Ricoh Aficio AP3800C) has these tabs:
Setup/Paper/PrintQuality/Statistics/Watermarks
in my Paper tab I have a Document Size drop-down that has options like Letter,Legal,Custom Size etc. Select Custom Size.
Below that is a button called 'Custom Paper Size'. Hit that and enter your size (probably 8.5" x 24").

That's how my printer would do it. Yours could be completely different though.
Hope it helps...
