Graphic Artist Wanted - Free Trackball
« on: March 31, 2004, 10:35:50 pm »
Here is the deal.

I am looking for someone that can design a logo for an upstart company. You don't have to be creative; you just have to be good with Paintshop or Illustrator, or whatever.

I will supply you with a hand-drawn idea of what I would like the logo to look like. All you have to do is turn it into a JPEG or GIF or BMP or whatever.

Interested Yet?

OK .. here is the catch. I would rather not pay cash for this, so ....

If you accept the job, you will be paid with your choice:

A Brand New Penny & Giles 2 inch USB Trackball. This thing is very cool and would look awesome in a cocktail project.

or ....

A slightly used Happ Controls 3 inch white trackball. Still works just fine - all parts were recently cleaned and oiled. Rolls perfectly.

Any way ... your choice!

If you would like to "take this job", just send me an e-mail or PM me here and let me know. I will then send you a copy of the scanned drawing you will be working from and some ideas I have for colors, etc.

My e-mail address: steven.moritz@comcast.net

I hope to hear from someone very talented soon.  ;D

If your design is the best, I will gladly send the TB to TimBukTu.   ;D

Three BYOAC'ers have already accepted the "challenge" ... so it boils down to the best design submitted will be the winner and will get their choice of trackballs.

I wasn't expecting more than one response really ... but I do appreciate the enthusiasm!

Maybe someone could post the handdrawn idea, giving everyone a shot, so he can get the best logo for his buck?

A logo for a trackball. That's a deal. I usually charge between 87 to 147 trackballs per logo ;D

I tried using a professional graphic designer for this project and what I got in return was absolute garbage. Plenty of artistic ability, but absolutely no imagination or creativity ...

I figured I would give the good folks here a chance to hone their design skills ... and possibly pick up some free arcade stuff in the process.  ;)

MM

P.S. As yet, I have received only one logo submission. It is very good, I might add. But there is plenty of time still to submit your design and be "in the running" for the TB.

I can send you the hand-drawn idea if you e-mail me at steven.moritz@comcast.net

Professional designer with no imagination or creative ability. That doesn't sound very professional. Maybe he would have been more creative if he'd been paid in trackballs. ;)

Why don't you just post your logo idea, then people can post their examples in this thread?

OK ... here it is. Have at it!

By the way ... the "J" should be turned around to look like a normal "J".
