Freezing / Crashing Issue
« on: November 18, 2024, 09:52:51 am »
I think this is an issue with my graphics card. GroovyMame and the CRT Emudrivers have been working perfectly in my arcade cab for several years with no issues. I haven't made any changes, but all of a sudden certain games (Tehkan World Cup and Track and Field) started freezing / locking up / blue screening the PC. It just appears to be game that run at 256x224. Other Mame games and emulators are all running perfectly. I did try replacing the GroovyMame.exe and the specific roms just to confirm they had not got corrupted. Deleted the CFG and NVRam for the speciic games, but the problem persists. I re-installed the CRT EMU Drivers the problem is still the same. Everything works apart for games that use that resolution.

Could my Graphics Card have developed a fault outputting just that resolution? My next step is to swap my graphics card for one exactly the same.

Any other suggestions?

Sounds super weird but who knows. Sounds like a low pixel clock issue, it's odd that it worked before anyway. Try forcing -dotclock_min 8.0 in mame.ini and see if it works that way.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
