MAMEHOOKER won't detect new games outputs anymore
« on: August 18, 2024, 04:02:37 am »
Good morning,
I've been looking for a solution to a problem I'm encountering with Mamehooker (MH) for some time.

MH, no longer detects new games even if I don't have the .ini in the MAME folder.
My operating system is Windows 10 64bits Familiy edition.
It detected new games very well before but not anymore.

I have the options checked below:

- Alerts on new outputs
- Speak newly found outputs via TTS

I tried with and without configuring the MAME path.

I even reinstalled MH......

thank you for your help.

I had a similar issue where it suddenly stopped working. I don't recall exactly what I did to fix it though. I played with a lot of settings.

If you're running demulshooter as an admin, then I think that you also need to run mamehooker as an admin too. If you recently changed one or the other then this could be the problem. I'm not sure if you're using demulshooter, but if not then I suppose that this isn't your problem.

You can also try to add mamehooker to the safe-app list in windows defender (link below). I would try this first but I'm not confident that it's the problem. You can try running mamehooker in compatibility mode too. I played with those kind of settings to get things working for me.

I don't use mamehooker anymore, but if I remember then I'll try to see if I still have settings for it in my arcade system.
