Author Topic: Strange game speed issue  (Read 3032 times)

Strange game speed issue

Windows 10, Groovymame .240, old Sony Trinitron monitor.

If I RDP to the machine and run Elevator Action via command line or through my front end, it seems to be fine. If I go to my cabinet and run it on the TV it screams... as in game is running over 700%. Some other games are fine... like 19XX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well... after wasting your time and mine with this post I found someone with a similar issue. I swear I did every keyword search I could think of and didn't find this dude's post about Gauntlet running and 4x.

He said setting syncrefresh to 0 in a game specific ini despite it being in the mame.ini worked for him.

Worked for me too.

I also saw where he moved to v265. I'm hesitant to do that as I don't want to have to update all my rom files too. That's a PITA.

Elevator Action should be ok even in older version. Fix mentioned is for Midway 3D games that did not sync correctly.

Dudeman,

By looking at your logs and .ini, the problem in the first place is that you switched to video opengl, which doesn't support vsync on GroovyMAME.

Set video d3d instead.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
