Rasterizing .AI files
« on: February 26, 2004, 04:33:35 pm »
Is there a free/inexpensive app that will rasterize an .AI file? I've tried Sodipodi, but it doesn't seem to want to open/recognize an .AI file.

I know you can purchase Illustrator for cheap on eBay, just looking for something that I can obtain easily.

thanks

just email it to me. I'll rasterize it for you. How's that for free.

you can use convert under unix/linux
it takes ai as input and spit a lot of format (jpg, png, tiff, etc etc )

under MacOS use grafic converter.

sorry dunno anything about windows.

I can do it for you
give me the exact name of the file you want to convert, the size you want and I'll up it to a place where you will abble to donwload them.
I'm on the planning stage

Adobe acrobat can read the newer AI files. Perhaps you need to change the suffix to PDF though.

Yes, mahuti made me a perfect marquee, thanks man!

Since we're on the subject, I have a Mac laying around with Debabelizer on it, does anyone know if DeBab will deal with an AI file?

It might. If it won't, try graphicconverter for the mac... 'the rosetta stone of graphics format'
