Wilsonart custom laminate?
« on: February 16, 2004, 02:08:07 am »
Does anyone here know anything about Wilsonart's custom printed laminate?  Like, how do they print it?  How good the results are?  Priceing?  Anything?
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

There's a really old thread about this here somewhere...... I'll see if I can find it. Their website has pretty good documentation about it. They use the same technique to print the custom artwork as they do their standard textures. It's just as durable. I remember the prices to be "premium" but reasonable for what you get.

Thanx brax, although I'm quite dissapointed in what I've read on that post.  If the $10/ft2 is the actual price I would end up spending over $600 on the sides alone, which is a heck of alot more than I'm planing on spending on the sideart.  Maybe I'll just paint the artwork on...

I thought I remembered reading that it was around $200 a side? Haven't some people paid that for a full side paper printout? I'm honestly not sure about the prices but I do know that if you want an entire side of your cabinet as artwork it won't be cheap using either method.
