Is it possible to have different mame.ini settings for games?
For example i want to turn the triple buffer option off for a few of the more intensive games but on for everything else.  Is that even possible?  Using mamewah for the frontend.

There is an ini folder under the main Mame directory.  Create a .ini file that has the same name as the rom you wish to make changes for.  Under that .ini file you would just enter the buffer option and that should be it.

Someone please correct me if this is incorrect, but it seems to work for me for games I want to change.

I just tried that out, it does work!
Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

You can just drop an ini file of the rom name in the mame folder too.  I have a vector.ini and a ddragon2.ini in my mame folder: )

This is also very useful for games that are on the cusp of beign playable on your system.  Take tekken3 for example.... if i turn on autoframeskip I get like 6-10 fps for it... however if i manually set the frameskip to 6 I get a respectable 40 fps.  Yes for processor intensive games autoframeskip is THAT inaccurate.  So if you are curious you might wanna mess with this setting and making it different on a per-game basis.
