Is Daytona USA Deluxe slow without dgVoodoo? I took the screenshots a while ago, I'd need to check my settings :)

Quick question - has anyone managed to get these games working in 16:9 or wider resolutions? Especially interested in Hydro Thunder. 

I've tried the suggestions here but no luck:
