what monitor is this? (P538 chassis)

im trying to figure out what monitor i have, it says P538 on the chassis. its a 25 or 27 inch, not sure exactly. its being used in my gauntlet dark legacy right now, im trying to see if its a medium res monitor or if it is a switchable standard/medium res.

do i need to give you guys any more info to make it easier? i tried searching on those numbers and didnt find anything

P538 silkscreened on the circuit board is a Wells-Gardner 25K7000 series, possibly a 25K7191 model. It's a standard res.

Just so you know sephroth27, I have two of those, jerry janis has one (currently dead) as well as joe B and some others--you have some good support for it

hmm, cause according to my gauntlet dark legacy manual the game should only be run on a medium res monitor or a switchable 15->25 monitor. so is mine a switchable? how would i identify that it is and if it is how do you switch the res?

edit: my concern is that maybe my graphics would be better if im running on standard res and i switch it to medium, or would it just not work if it was on standard?

There were some medium res versions of the k7000 series produced. Look for a sticker on the metal monitor frame somewhere for the model number (it may be a 25k7635).

I think the 7000 series monitor is one of the most popular out there!

Many late 80's to mid 90's generic arcade machines have it.   So the support for it is great.  I also find that if you take care of it, it'll last a long long time.  I had mine stored in the garage all last winter (below 30 degrees celcius!) and it powered on perfectly in the spring.

With a little TLC and a cap kit, it should last you a long long time!

Nope, those numbers don't appear in my service manual. My suggestion is to contact the tech support dept at www.wellsgardner.com

It's best to call them rather than email. They should be able to cross that number over to something that could better describe your monitor. You should post a picture of your monitor chassis.
