Resident Evil Arcade Cabinet
« on: February 24, 2017, 06:46:32 pm »
Hi there! I'm Alex Redfield, a spanish videogame enthusiastic. Two years ago I bought an old 90s cabinet in a warehouse. The model was a New Kit by Comeltro, an arcade maker company in Barcelona. Now its time to work on it and make it shine!

On the inside it has an Hantarex US200 power supply, an Hantarex Polo 25'' screen, an Pandora's Box 2 JAMMA multigame (waiting for an PB3 to arrive) and a Street Fighter II Rainbow PCB.

The look was good in general, but the coin doors and the metallic base weren't that good. The first thing was sand down all that and paint it with a special anti-rust paint.

The next was paint all the wood in black.

The marquee light isn't working, so instead of replacing it I used a LED strip attached to the old bar.

The design is based on my favourite videogame franchise, Resident Evil. I opened Photoshop and started working on it! On the sides are my favourite girls, Claire and Jill. On the marquee the logo and the main characters of my two favourite games, RE1 and 2. The control panel is inspired in the RE1's character selection screen.

I had to make a new methacrylate for the control panel. To fold it I used a heat gun.

I added a power on button on the top.

I also customized the identification plate...

...and the keychain.

A detail in the back door.

And after placing the vinyls and the T molding this is the result!!

Hope u like as much as me!!!

P.D. Sorry for my english!

Yeah, I'm considering to connect a classic Xbox with PS1 emulator or a PS2. But that will be in a while.

Great job applying this RE theme to your cabinet. Bending the plexi, very cool! I'm digging that spanish cabinet, never seen that shape before.

PS1 emulation on the Raspberry Pi 3 is apparently very good, I'd use that if I were you.

Though I don't agree with the choice of theme, I admire your commitment.

Yeah, only PB3 can be modified (the 520 games version, not the PS4 shape version). You can modify menu pics and sounds, and add more games, there are some tutorial on YouTube.
