Gamenstein Marquee -- new addition.
« on: February 13, 2004, 12:05:16 pm »
Which of these two marquees do you like better for my Gamenstein project (see here for the project)?

If you have any suggestions let me know.  BTW, I am very, very inexperienced in graphics manipulation, so keep that in mind when making suggestions.

That's easy, go with the second one!
Any designs on the CP yet?

You're artwork is great, don't be so hard on yourself... :D

Can't wait to see some pics.

No CP designs yet.  Since it's going to be 4-player, I'm not sure if I'm going to try to angle the 3rd and 4th players or not.  I'd like to not do that, but I also don't want a really long panel.

My "artwork" consists of a frankenstein picture I found on Google, a lightning picture I found on Google and a "Frankenstein" font I found on Google.  I just happen to know how to move a layer to the back in PSP and do drop shadows.  "Cut and paste" is my best friend. :)

#2 is a clear choice... The lightning really adds to it. Of course it is all personal preferrence.

In spite of that it's great! Congrats :)

Second one is much better, that's a nice looking marquee but I don't like your choice of fonts though. Perhaps you should play around with different fonts unless you really like that one of course. I guess it's probably a similar or same font to the one used in the movie Frankenstein so I guess you got to go with that sort of font, I just can't work out how they get a G out of that font.

Just a suggestion.. but replace the man with a of picture a glowing arcade machine.

So it looks like the lighting in powering up your Gamenstien machine.

I used your suggestion (sort of) and made this.  I didn't like it at first, but it's growing on me.  What do you think?

I'd go with either the guy or the machine myself... probably just the guy

another idea would be to maybe have some kind of box or something with arcade parts coming together/to life, something like that,  eh, I dunno?
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I think it would look better if you tilted the machine to so the angle is equal too the lightening post.

I liked it better without the cab. I also have to disagree with retroborg about the font. That's perfect for your Frankenstein theme.
