Thoughts on CP Overlay
« on: February 20, 2016, 10:41:02 pm »
So I think someone else used this artwork as well but here is what I've come up with for my 1 player 6 button + trackball control panel.

So I didn't bother to do any joystick or button graphics or even anything for the track ball, wanted a pretty clean control panel. Just added the words at the top where the coin/start/admin buttons will be. As it is now, the trackball sits pretty much in the middle of the character explosion and the joystick sits right near pac man. Thinking of getting it printed at gameongrafix.com on their polycarbonite laminate. What do you guys think, any suggetions?

Also, anyone who has had anything printed from them know if I can send them the image like this or do I need to send them a PSD file of just the exact control panel without all the whitespace around it? Thanks!

Game on is a great printer. You'll want to send them the exact print you want.

Also, if you aren't going to mess around with fancy joystick placement holes and stuff, you should make it oversized to give you some margin of error on applying your CP. Maybe consider buying buttons that have your commands (credit, start, pause, exit, menu restart) on them. like this:

Your call, but I'll never put a menu button on my cabinet again. Guests can really make a mess of all your settings.

That's an excellent idea on having the words inside the buttons. My admin buttons already have a white background so I could easily add that. Think I'll do that, thanks!
