Yeah, the first thing you need to realize is that most people are stupid and don't know anything about anything.  If you see a random stranger out in the crown I'd say there's a 90% chance he's a moron at worst and a solid C- student at best.  Anyway, my point is... we have specialized knowledge and experience in this field.  Most people don't, because they are lame and don't like cool things.  They aren't cool guys like us. ;)

Well put, and hilarious.  I think i found my first post signature.   :lol

I think I see BYOACs mission statement and motto here :)

You guys are all big meanies. Who are you to dictate what a good machine looks like. If someone wants to play thousands of dollars and it makes them happy, isn't that all that matters?

Did he wear a goatee to ensure the audience knew this was the evil version?

Ha ha!  That is exactly what I thought of when I read your post.

At the risk of sounding prejudice I must say he looks like a badass.

Now see I've always rocked the goatee.  So I guess I'm the evil Howard and in some mirror universe  there's a soft-spoken ---meecrob--- who likes watching reality television, the new Star Trek reboot, and spends all his time watching "the sportz"

Well, I got a response in regards to my licensing question.

Quote
We are purchasing a license per game per Polycade. I can understand the confusion with my comment regarding commercial use. The Polycade itself is just an interface, and if you were to place a set of games to which you have a commercial license for, then it would be usable commercially.

So it looks like most of the cost of this urinal is licensing.

Huh? I'll be damned. Didn't know Capcom and Nintendo were selling licences to use Street Fighter and Sonic the hedgehog games. (Nintendo does have exclusive rights to Sonic right?)

(According to them, both games come pre-loaded...among many others owned by dozens of companies)

What a nightmare. It would have been so much easier to just ship it without games.

Why didn't they just call it Mamecade and be done with it?
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

Yeah, so I just saw this comment Tyler Bushnell made on the kickstarter page back in December:

Quote
The games are console versions at this time. We are looking into obtaining the necessary licenses for the arcade versions, so will use those if we can get them in time for shipping. You will be able to install the arcade versions yourself though, which will involve flashing your SD card with the RetroPie install. We will provide information on how to do this, it's pretty easy. $1500 to play the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man on an LCD?  :laugh2:

You know, you can get 100 licensed 2600 games for $60.
