Kramer FC-14 is probably the best, but it's pretty rare these days. I've also heard good things about the Audio Authority 9a60.

All the transcoder info you hope for is in a thread just a little further down the page...

Several people use that method, and even that exact encoder (myself included).  You can find a lot of information about that particular set-up in the following thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,121491.0.html

If you go that route, let us know how it works out! :)

It's definitely not as easy as plug and play. You do have a video card that's capable of outputting 15khz resolutions, right?

What are you using for 15Khz resolutions? Soft 15-Khz?

I'm trying too. But I think I'm in over my head. i'll keep playing with it over the weekend.
I'ved tried 2 VGA cables, 2 Component cables and the 2 Sony's TVs. Just to rule out any hardware problems
If I can't get this setup to work, I'll just get an LCD.
I'll return the transcoder and sell the 2 Sony's I have.
Thanks for all the help and encouragement

If I get the ArcadeVGA card and use the transcoder to hook it up to the Sony' Then will everything work ?
Is the ArcadeVGA card powerful enough to run Carnevil ?
How about some of the newer emulators ?

Have you set your video to the appropriate resolution?  If not, try setting it to 640x480 and see if that helps.  The ArcadeVGA should also work.
