mame analog+ config

Can anyone give me the quick rundown on getting this working?  I've been scouring the site for a while now, and it just doesn't explain the config part very well.  Does anyone have a sample config line for this, and does it go in the mame.ini file, or do you need to make a new mameanalogXP.ini file, or what?  I'm trying to get 2 rotary optical sticks, a trackball and a mouse running under mame, and so far I've got everything running in mame except the last rotary stick.  Supposedly the new version has support for 2 mice in XP, I just can't seem to find the instructions on enabling the options, and configuring the stick.  It's late, so maybe I'm just going dense or something, so have patience with me

run a analogmame -cc to create the analogmame.ini file.  The new options are in there.

It's mame, that's how mame works.  Every new mame do a mame -cc to add any new options to the ini file.
