ROM Lists FrontEnd MESS
« on: July 22, 2015, 02:38:52 pm »
Is there anyway for a Frontend such as Mala or Mamewah to read MESS's individual system dats or xml in order for the FE to deliver a gamelist that is not simply the name of the rom.zip?

romlister should also be able to import mess xml files, allowing you to export them to any FE.
it is a new and lightly tested feature though, so give me feedback if it's not what you're looking for.

Oh yea. Rom Lister! I forgot about this nice little utility. I am not sure it can do what I want though? I am looking for a read friendly list. Usually your FE will read Mame.xml to create a friendly title for each game instead of simply the rom name. Maybe if it can create a custom dat_file then we would be in business. At any rate. Thanks for reminding me of this utility. Now I can remove and clean up some of my roms.

FYI ROMlister worked like a charm! Simply point romlister to the hash directory and select the individual system xml file. Then create the list. I use MameWah and low and behold romlister can use the info in the xml file to create a nice clean list! Many thanks!
