MameWAH Question
« on: January 01, 2004, 10:00:33 pm »
This might be a really dumb question, but I've searched around quite a bit to no avail....

Is there any way to page down/up in mamewah?

Thanks,
Brian

Stuzza,

Do you have to set the joystick to page up/down as an option somewhere within MAMEwah?  Is it supposed to be a default?  My joystick that I am using does not page up/down through the gamelist, but I would really like to know how to get it to do that.
Also, I am using a skin from your website (gndprx/Steve H.--Cabinet with help screen).  I would like to set the help screen options so that the joystick/buttons perform the stated function such as select game, page up/down, FE menu, etc.  How do I do this?  Within MAMEwah?  Or do I have to use the JoytoKey program that I have heard about and tried, but have not been successful with yet?
Thanks for the help.

P1 Left and P1 Right always controls page up/down (left / right cursors by default).  If you need to remap this (or any controls), go into Control Options > Customise Controls :)

Minwah,

I went to customise controls and selected the P1 Left option and when the menu states push any button to customise control, I push to the left on my joystick to set it as the P1 Left option and nothing happens.  I tried pushing other buttons on my controller, and they would not work either.  I should state that I am not on an arcade cabinet, but using a game controller through PC for MAME at the moment.  Perhaps this is the fault and why I would need something like JoytoKey inorder to get these to work.  But from the earlier post, it seemed that it should work for any case.  Not sure what I could be doing wrong otherwise.  Thanks.

Oh I see, sorry.  Yes you would need to use JoytoKey then, for all the controls in MAMEWAH.  I'd suggest you map your PC joystick to MAME defaults (ie cursors, 1, 2, etc.).
