Tron Themed Custom Cab
« on: June 30, 2015, 03:22:22 pm »
Been working on a new cabinet for two months now honing all of the new woodworking skills I acquired building my Virtual Pinball machine last year. I think this should compliment it quite nicely. HUGE thanks to John at arcadeparadise.org for the inspiration and plans. Your design was perfect for me. Also, thanks to GameOnGrafix for the CP overlay. It was the frosting on the proverbial cake.  Now, the particulars.

Everything built from 3/4" MDF
8 way sticks, dedicated 4-way, buttons and coin door from Suzo-Happ
iPac2, trackball, spinner and pistol grip stick from Ultimarc
Monitor - 28" Insignia LED TV
PC - AMD A6-6400K 3,9 GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD

The build....

And a quick video showing the modified Maximus Arcade front end...

Had a blast with the build. Questions or comments are welcome.

Nice build, but I can't STAND the MAME logo on arcades. No offense to you of course, to each their own. I was hoping to see some custom graphics more than slapping on the MAME logo. Nice work though! Clean woodworking.

How do you like the Tron stick?  Obviously it did not cost $175 like the Happ Sticks, it sure looks like a reasonable solution for $22.  Just wondering what your thoughts are.
