Why? Why would you install XP on a NUC?
Quote from: johnrt on June 13, 2015, 05:43:18 pmWhy? Why would you install XP on a NUC? Other ideas John? And its only going to be used as gaming console for older games....And I had a copy of XP lying around...And I'm a dummy when it comes to Ubuntu...
Welp since 10's requirement is 1 GHZ for processing speed and 2 GB of ram I think I'll pass. I have a NUC 3 and just running the OS would eat up all my processor speed. Leaving me nothing for my games.
Seems only some NUC boards support XP - here's a list of supported Oses for the different boards. (it also has the driver downloads for the ones that do support it that you might try.)http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-034034.htmDCCP847DYEDCP847SKE Windows 8.1, 32-bitWindows 8.1, 64-bitWindows 8, 32-bitWindows 8, 64-bitWindows 7, 32-bitWindows 7, 64-bitWindows XP Home Edition* (as-is)5Windows XP Media Center Edition* (as-is)5Windows XP Professional* (as-is)5Windows XP Professional x64 Edition* (as-is)5 Chromium*CrunchBang*Elementary OS*Fedora*Linux MintKodiBuntu Helix*MythBuntu*OpenELECSlackware*Ubuntu
It might be supported anyway. Remember 10 hasn't been officially released yet.
Why not try XP64? It would be quicker if you got Windows 10 for that NUC, then use that XP license for the official Windows 10 upgrade.Or you can use XP and enjoy the self abuse.Your choice.
