Potentiometer kit
« on: June 14, 2015, 03:25:10 pm »
Does anyone offer a portentiometer kit for repair monitors?

I know there are a few types of pots used, on top of the various values.

I'd need a kit that works for the neckboard, deflection board, and remote board.

I recently bought a kit off of Ebay, and it does work for about 20% of the monitors.

So where do you buy your kits from?

I know a lot of folks get stuff like that from the Real Bob Roberts.  Check him out - he is an invaluable resource to the community.

I've gotten things from him before, but I didn't see a whole kit available.

His site does have a very good chart showing the different kinds of pots though!

I know that 5k and 10k are used a lot in monitors.
Your best bet for finding proper values are in the monitors manual.
There is typically a parts layout that lists every part on every board for that particular monitor.

Also, not sure if you have checked this out but here is Bobs pots page that has some great info.

The main issue I have is with the footprint of the pot itself.

I'm having ahard time finding "bulk" quantities of them.

By bulk, I mean 20-30 of each value, in horizontal and vertical.

I was able to make mine work on a few monitors by doing so creative pin bending, but I'd much prefer to put the original sizes back in.
