Hi everyone, I decided to build my dad his very own arcade machine as he has been talking about one for a long time I feel it's just the right time to have a go at building one for him as a surprise. I have little woodwork knowledge and no previous woodwork experience so forgive me if I sound stupid and if anyone has any ideas on how to do something different or make things easier I'd love to hear them!

My theme is crash bandicoot as he's a big fan of crash bandicoot so I'll probably spray it blue and or orange and vinyl either side/marquee and joystick area. I am hoping to run various emulators including a ps1 emulator and also use it as a jukebox with spotify. I'll upload some

how deep is this going to be im working on designing a bartop lcd cab. trying to use only one 4x2 sheet of mdf to start then later get a second to add the final panels like the back and the bezel.

400mm at the bottom, 250mm at the top and the middle is between 170-200mm deep! I'd say you'd probably get nearly a full one out of a full sheet. I used three quaters of a sheet to get to we're I am now. Just be clever with your cuts

Looks pretty good so far,  9mm MDF seems a bit thin though.  Anyway popped in to give you a Marquee Area alert,  You want to take the top and bottom of your marquee back about 1/4" If you can drop the top down you should drop it at least the same, if you don't when it comes to marquee retainers they will sit in front of and above the edges.  Not a good look even with the thinnest retainers I could find.
