until such time as this software gets old enough to be abandoned by merit, we are going to have to make due with what they've "supplied" as boards.

basically your best option currently is the intel "little falls" and related series boards as replacements. everything else is old used stock that is probably no better (and probably has as many uptime hours) as the original.

once merit has thrown in the hat and stuff is NLA, we can talk about patching the software for new hardware.
