Need help with my Christmas list
Karpro:
Yotsuya I appreciate the insight. I started this thread because I'm looking for direction/help/ideas. I didn't realize how few games actually were four player capable. Hell, I don't have three friends so I'll never need it!

No problem, my friend. Keep in mind that most of us speak from experience and have already made a lot of the mistakes for you.

Yeah. Like building a bartop.

4 Player Simultaneous MAME
Gauntlet
Gauntlet II
Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder
NBA Jam
Sunset Riders
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Simpsons
Vendetta
X-Men
3 Player Simultaneous MAME
Alien vs Predator
Iron Ivan Stewart's Super Off-Road
Rampage
If so, a two player probably does the trick

There are more...
Escape Kids
The Gladiator (enable 4 Player mode in test mode)
Knights of Valor / Knights of Valor 2 (enable 4 player mode in test mode)
Oriental Legend
Legend of Heroes (sound is kinda bad tho)
Zero Team 2000 (again, enable 4 player mode in test mode) - you'll need MAME 0.155 or newer for this one
Snow Bros 2
Karate Blazers (set dipswitch to 4 players)
not sure where you're getting your list, but you've even missed some popular Capcom titles like Battle Circuit and Dungeons & Dragons, Taito games like Arabian Magic, Sega games such as Arabian Fight and probably quite a number more. You don't even have the Bomberman World game listed and those are some of the most famous 4 player titles. Namco put out a 4 player version of Tank Force as well, also Exvania their own take on a Bomberman style game.
some gun games eg. Laser Ghost are 3 player too, but I guess you don't care about those.
Sega's Hotrod is a 3 player overhead driving game...
Sega's Bullet also supports 3 players, but you'd need 3 sets of dual sticks for that ;-)
Turbo Force is a 3 player shmup, only one I can think of.
Undercover Cops is a 3 player beat 'em up (turn on the dipswitch. also run the Alpha Renewal set as the regular World one has too much content stripped)
Saneless:
Oh come on, where's your sense of adventure.
I just didn't want to see the sad look on another grown man's face as he realized he can't be the 3rd or 4th player in TMNT.
It's impractical, more expensive, and a lot more time with wiring, but in the end I'm glad I did it. It's a wider footprint but eh, I wanted to go all out.
But I agree with the others that if you're talking about younger kids who probably never stood around an actual arcade machine with 3 of their buddies, they'll probably be just fine with controllers.
