Hello everyone,
Lurker for a long time needing some assistance. I recently bought the Apple M4868 off eBay for £50. I know that sounds expensive for a CRT over 10 years old but it was the only decent CRT I could find over 19" that wasn't a collection only (I don't have a car). Now upon testing the monitor the screens geometry is off. There is no OSD for changing the screens geometry either. Foolishly I've ordered a monitor that requires an Apple G3 to enter the monitors control panel (the monitor has a USB 4-port I/O panel).
Now I've used PowerStrip a little, and I've tried fixing the screens geometry using the Advanced Timings feature, I can easily move the video output around the monitors viewable area but I cannot 'fill' this area. The second set of GUI arrows withing PowerStrip which I'm guessing are for screen size make no apparent changes to the output. My graphics card is an nVidia 560GTX Ti, if that is potentially to blame. I know that PowerStrip only makes changes to the way my graphics card outputs the video and no actual changes to the monitors settings, but I thought it might be a work around atleast.
After reading multiple forums regarding the Apple USB drivers, they were only available for the G3 Mac, with no Windows release. I've looked everywhere for them.
http://tim.id.au/laptops/apple/displays/studio_display_21.pdfThis is the technicians manual for the display which I've read through multiple times and can't see any easy work around.
I'm posting this on the monitor, with my 2-inch black border around my screen! I'm annoyed because otherwise this is potentially one of the best CRT monitors I've seen as far as colour and brightness are concerned.
