Candy Cab Monitor problem?

A friend just called me and said he had a candy cabinet with 300+ jamma board in it.  When he moved house, he tried the cab which used to work and now it does not.  He says it clicks when he tries to turn it on and no sound or picture on the screen.
He has tried to plug the crt monitor into a pc and says he may have made it worse ( trying to display a resolution it is not made for .... )

I am going to pop over at the weekend to take a look at it...

Does anyone have any advice as to what to check for.  I was going to check in this order

1) Jamma edge connector seated correctly
2) PSU working correctly at correct voltages DC
3) Video and audio out on Jamma correctly soldered
4) Monitor ?

Now... how would I check the monitor ?  How could I check it still works independently ?

ANy help appreciated guys as he wants to breathe new life into it.

depending on the monitor he may have shorted the HOT by feeding it higher than 24khz

you should start by turning on machine and listen for monitor HT,you can turn the screen volts up on the flyback transformer to see if you get a raster

if you get a raster then using a multi meter check the power supply voltage to the edge connector

what cab is this?

Only info i have till i visit is that its a candy with 29" monitor and 300 games on jamma board.
