Replacing a monitor with an LCD in a Centipede minicab?
« on: September 04, 2014, 12:22:21 am »
Hi everyone.

Just picked up a Centipede minicab. Plays blind, so I'm guessing the monitor needs to be replaced. Rather than try to repair the existing monitor, I'd prefer to replace it with an LCD. But I'm unsure where to start. I assume I'd need a converter of some kind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

lcd?
you are limited in the U.S as you do not have scart t.v's-scart allows 15khz with some adaptio

that leaves you with a multi sync ,http://na.suzohapp.com/amusement_products/monitors/49-2604-30L

not cheap, probably worth you getting your existing chassis repaired by one of the many crt repair peeps in th U.S

LCD in a classic cab!!! Very not done.  :badmood: Do your best and try to repair the exisitng monitor. There cab be dozens of reasons why a game plays blind, from something very simple as a blown fuse to .....

Please first go the try-to-repair route.  :)

once again i would like to say thanks for the support. i am taking your advice and trying rebuild the g07 chasis instead.  i was trying for a quick fix, but i guess this is the part that makes owning and working on these machines fun.  i pulled a blown fuse f901 and one melted capacitor from the board and will be replacing it shortly. i will post a update when i get the new fuse.

i would suggest you do a full cap kit and at least check both the regulator and horizontal output transistor-also you must check the flyback for any cracks or any sort of residue leak
