The ref idea I agree, I like.
However there is no ref art in the same style as the other 3 boxers.

I think really if anything were to be done to it (and I'm not asking! LOL) would be just perhaps the Punch-Out!! text as it appears on the sideart/marquee.
And perhaps a Nintendo logo somewhere. But honestly that is just nitpicking, because I really do think this looks complete, professional, polished, and it is indeed a KNOCKOUT !

OK Since you weren't asking (and I was bored  :laugh2: ) made a few more changes (still have the older versions if you don't like some of them !) Think I got them all :  (If you like them let me know also let me know what characters\flyers you want in what corner and I'll make a png version of the ones you want and upload a new zip package with the psd and whichever png files you want. (or if you want a few changes that can be done also. ))

Wow! Now so many options it is getting hard to pick.
Do you think it would look good to use the Punch-Out marquee text with the colors as it appears on the marquee ?
As far as what is in what corner, I like the bottom as is, perhaps adding back the gloves to top left and moving the character to top right.

One of my biggest things is just wanting everything to match. IE - images came out in and around the same time. That is why I liked the 4 corner (3 characters + gloves) version best I think. All of it was art from the flyers/original cabinet art.

I don't think I would do this, but only other thing I can think of is using art from the Wii version as the art all has the same look. So Mac, King Hippo, Glass Joe, Bald Bull.

I`ve downloaded each zip posted so far, so I have all the files saved in my Punch-Out folder.

I was thinking white background still, using the marquee image : http://vectorlib.free.fr/PunchOut/
The text would have the black stroke around it, and the impact effect would be grey.

EDIT - I had not seen the revised post with the grey. I like that. I think that looks really good.

I gotta say JDF, your idea with the grey works better than the white.
I like the grey

I'm going to open all these in Photoshop and try to pick.
I think I know which one I like best, but I want to see them side by side.

I sent a sample sheet to Soul Draw and was provided a quote.
My only issue is they only make straight cuts, so I'd need to cut the side art and bezel myself.

I'm waiting on a final quote from the previous printer I used as they would have everything cut.
For a few more dollars it may be the way to go.

Got everything sized up and sent out for a quote today.
Looking forward to making progress on this.

So what was the final choice - Or do we have to wait until you get it to see the pics ?

Sorry for the lack of response as of late, super busy and no PC time.
I'm going with the 3 character/glove layout.......I love it.
I also like it with the original text you used, not the marquee text.

I sent this off for a quote, seems I'll need to cut out the center bezel by hand...........NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT !

I'm working on a nice lil print 12" x 18" using the files you provided to hang in the man cave. I'll also be doing a custom MALA layout that I will make available to all.

Thank you again JDFan

I got a quote from Soul Draw, but they only do straight cuts.
So I think I'll spend the few dollars more and use the printer I used prior.
I need to get all the files ready for print.

When I look online I realize I am such a NOVICE when it comes to Photoshop.
I know what I know and I do it well, I just know so little.

Today I'll be working with the pen tool on the bezel to create a path to  cut out the center.

Wish me luck !

I still have not finished with the artwork print preperations.
I did give it a shot, but I'll need a lil more time to complete it.
When I do get it done I will upload a zip here of everything sized (with the cutline).
Should someone wish to do a project like this the art will be available.
I'll also start a build thread and post the art in the thread.

I liked the original bezel marquee as I assume your have Punch-Out colored logo on the side, cpo, and a marquee itself?

For the cabinet I am going to go with the side art and marquee as it was on the cabinet.
The CPO is the modified one I posted in the thread, taking out the instruction panel and adding a green colored Punch-Out logo.
For the bezel (as designed by JDFan) I'm going with the bezel with character art (and boxing gloves) in each of the 4 corners.
I like the balance of the 4..........I also like the original JDFan did with the two characters and may (cost pending) print both.

I've been so busy and since I don't really know how to do the cut path on the bezel, so that is where I am slacking.

I should be getting the bartop in a week or two I suspect.
At that point I'm sure I'll find the motivation to push forward.
I still need to learn how to do create the cut parth, and get it DONE!
Over and above that all the art work is sized and ready.
I think I might need to tweak the marquee a lil....but I cant recall now.

If anyone has any tips on easily creating the cut path for the inside of the bezel I'd love to know.

To BUMP! an old thread........

I again wanted to send a HUGE thank you to JDFan for all his help with this project.
The artwork is better than I would have ever thought and NO WAY could I have done this myself.

Thank you....................................

I just wanted to share an image and report that I had the artwork printed and it is on it's way !

Sorry ! As noted prior many thanks to all who provided help with this project.
I am greatful.
I just wanted to single out JDFan for the bezel help as I'm simply blown away by the work he did.
His contribution to this project was a MASSIVE help.

But again thank you all who provided help.

*** The Nintendo stick I'm going to add to the back of the cabinet. I think I have an extra coin sticker (as seen on the full size Nintendo cabinets). Might see how that would look on the front. ***
