Cool ad I saw - Asteroids/Hummer
« on: November 23, 2003, 11:13:06 pm »
Was watching the Bears game today and heard the sounds of Asteroids while I was in the kitchen. Poked my head back in and watched 5-seconds of asteroids on my tv. Turned out to be an ad for Hummer. Didn't make me go run out and buy one, but it was kinda cool

Heh .. yeah I saw that too.   I also was in another room when I heard it and raced around so I could see it.    I think I will buy one just so I can take on those Asteroid UFOs better.  Damn those marketing gurus.  :)

I like the commercial.(previous hummer/asteroids thread)  I can think of better-themed old games to use than asteroids, tho.  Like Pitfall! Harry doing something with it.  Or maybe space invaders not getting past the H2.  No doubt the creators wanted a very distinctive look with asteroids.  It hardly looks like other car commercials.

But seriously, who buys a hummer?  Aren't they like 80 grand or something?  Isn't there some saying about the bigger/more expensive the car, the smaller the....  ::)

Speaking of commercials, anyone seen the Video Game Awards spots SpikeTV has been running? I've seen a Pacman and a Joust themed ad so far that were pretty cool.

Seems the awards are neglecting arcade games in favor of PC/console games though.  :'(

It's jealousy - I just have to settle for the radioshack RC version :)
