Having run my own forum for five years, until just recently, I have to mention that those who posted on my site or forum did so voluntarily.  Also whatever they posted became my property to do as I chose.  Bad behaviour, drug references, sexual content, etc got deleted.  This was nothing to do with me being a --cream-filled twinkie--, it was being in compliance with my service provider, and being a responsible adult.

Now there are ways to communicate (and in fairness I am learning this) and making your point heard without getting yourself banned.  It is something you have to learn, especially now with all these new controls, which was not even thought of 12 years ago.  We all like to rant, feel upset and want to get off our chest, and this is a good place to do it.  Saint's tolerance is legendary and we should respect that.  But again we should respect his rules, as it is his site, and let's face it, he pays the bills to keep this site going.

So I shall apologise to 404 for my insensitive comments towards his plight, even though his plight was excessive, and hope we can all learn from the experience.  I'm sure I'll be hung up by my Buster Browns for my part in this debacle.

Have a nice day.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

saint,

I'm going to take the liberty here of speaking for the entire community by expressing our sincerest condolences on your father's passing.  Take whatever time you need, in whatever form you need, and do whatever you need to do right now.  If that means time away from BYOAC then we will keep the lights on and the behaviour within the rules as they have always been.  We are all grateful to you for running this amazing community for so long, financially and practically, and we are all 100% behind you in these difficult moments.

Obviously few if any of us here knew your father, but we know you, and so we know what type of man he must have been.  I will raise a glass later today to toast his life and I am sure I will not be the only one.

I agree with everything Chad just said.

Doesn't really surprise me at this point. I'm starting to suspect this was more of a $ponsorship issue than anything else.

The blatant disrespect for saint at a time when he had told us what was going on is revolting enough, but this stupidity is idiotic and defied by years of evidence and common sense.

Sure, everybody who whines (if you are whining about communication with a niche vendor on a ---smurfing--- holiday weekend over a period of less than 48 hours, you are whining), then gets bitchslapped by the mob, thinks there is some grand conspiracy to suppress their displeasure.

As someone who has pushed vendors farther than most, and exposed saint to some fairly significant threats and potential legal issues, let me say that 404 is talking out of his ass without ANY idea of who sponsors what or how things work around here. If saint suppressed people who badmouth supporters, then Xiaou2 and TranQShortGreayHairs would have been booted long, long ago.

You should be very grateful that saint has picked reasonable folks to moderate around here. They do a better job than ANY other coin-op or gaming site that I have seen.

Now get your ---smurfette----ass off of my lawn.

I think the whole point of Saint's response was that he really doesn't want to deal with bickering right now, so maybe starting it up again isn't the best idea Jeffo.

I hope you feel better John, as per usual, if you need to complain to someone you know where I'm at.
