I am going, a lot of the Klov guys are going. In general the internet arcade people are meeting at Mc Donalds at 9 am.

You crashing at my place and bringing that Biplane or what?

Also, I will be bringing Exidy Venture "Winky Fan Club" promotional buttons, just find me and ask to receive one.

Not exactly sure what I am actually going to be buying at this one now. The pre-auction deals I have already made for the Turbo, Sprint 2, Space Invaders (another mini, yeah baby!), and Defender are already going to keep me busy for months.

I do know that I will certainly be bidding on any working black & white games (besides the 4 I already have). But they really aren't worth very much, so there aren't many of them I am willing to go over $100 on. Except maybe Atari Football, but a good Atari Football would go pretty high anyway.

Dead/empty stuff that might interest me right now would be.

Midway cocktails. If I got one then I would get a new Pac-Man underlay for it, and change my Artic mini over to being a spinner cabinet.
Tempest or any other dedicated single spinner cabinet.
Star Wars or any other yoke cabinet.

Fully working color stuff I am going to be looking for.

Exidy gun games. Or pretty much anything dedicated with a gun other than Playchoice or Vs. equipment.

Berzerk, Neo Geo one slot, Capcom Bowling (dedicated or Pac cab, no other cabinets need apply), Vindicators, STUN Runner, Peter Packrat, Arkanoid (only in a Taito cab or a Midway cocktail).

Something newer with a big monitor. All my cabs are either ancient, minis, or ancient minis. It would be nice to have a newer game with a big monitor. Right now my largest monitor is in a black and white game!!!

Of course I will probably end up buying absolutely nothing even remotely resembling my want list. I never do. Last time I went looking for Berzerk, Capcom Bowling, and a Nintendo tent cocktail, and I brought home Assault, a dart machine, and a video poker (all of which are gone now, except the cabinet for the video poker).

I've always been curious. What's with your facsination for B&W games?

I'm surprised you don't own a gunfight.  One sold at the SoCal auction for $25.oo or something close to it. No one would bid on it.

Ok, St. Louis auction was great. I met up with crsdawg but then I promptly lost him and never ended up making the deal for the Biplane.

Here is what I did end up with.

A beautiful (9 out of 10) Outrun for $275. It has no issues at all, the plastics and control panel have NO CRACKS in them and the shaker motor even works. The sideart is 100 percent on one side and is just missing a small chunk out of the center on the other side. That was easily the best Outrun there, and probably the best Outrun I have seen since around 1991.

A Bally Hawaii Bingo type pinball for $25. It was complete minus the plunger and lights up. It seems to be coming up tilted. I can't find the tilt mech, but I could easily be missing it. If you have never looked inside a Bingo pinball then the best way to describe it was to say it looks like some sort of clockwork nightmare. Miles and miles of wires switches and relays. It seemed to weigh about 400 lbs too.

Two Defender cabinets. Both have full sideart. One was a nearly complete Arch Rivals conversion (missing PCB and coin door), and the other is wood only. These were both from pre-auction deals.

Sprint 2 (Another pre auction deal). Complete, in beautiful condition. It either has a monitor problem or a boardset problem that makes it look like a monitor problem. You can play it but the picture is off. I also have a Sprint One that has a good monitor, so hopefully I can get both these up now that I can swap parts to troubleshoot.

Space Invaders mini. (Pre auction deal). Nice condition, but mostly incomplete. Has a dead color monitor installed and a coin door, and that is about it.

Sega Turbo. (Pre auction deal). Upright, mostly taken apart. Boardset works but does have a RAM error. Monitor doesn't work, but he pointed to a part on the monitor board and told me "one of those fell out", so at least I know where to start. I was missing the bezel, but I posted on RGVAC that I needed one and in the early afternoon I guy found me at the auction and he had the bezel I needed with him.

My thing for black and white games is that they look nice. They are usually in much better condition that early 80s classics. They are also very simple and games tend to be short. That makes them easy for first time players to enjoy, and also makes it perfect to bust out a quick game.

Haven't gotten any pictures of the twin defenders the Turbo or the Invaders yet. Probably won't photograph them until I start working on them.

If you need parts and/or manuals for that bingo pinball, Steve Young's Pinball Resource (www.pbresource.com) should have it.

I went to that auction and ended up with squat  :'(
Dorag was doing his usual thing there.  I see he changed his "mark" on the machines.  I thought the prices were pretty high on some of the junk machines there compared to the last one I went to.  Couldnt believe virtua racing and outrunner sitdown racing consoles went for $50 each.  If I thought I could have gotten them through my basement doors I would have snagged on them.  Just out of curiosity paigelover, did you see (maybe got) that Atari stunt cycle 2 auctions back? (June I believe).  a 19 inch monitor, new in box going for $80, a 25 (or 27?) going for $60 with chassis, not in box

By the time they got to the parts I had blown my wad. So I didn't watch them sell, but apparently everyone was mad because someone who knew the auctioneer managed to buy the good box of parts without it really coming up for bid. They just announced the lot number (which no one knew), the guy put in a bid and the auctioneer said sold (or something like that).

This had been my first auction in quite a while, so no I didn't see the Stunt Cycle.
