Did E.J. ever make an appearance in an Arcade?

It looks nice but I'm bit of a purist when it comes to compilations like that. Console for Console, Arcade for Arcade. That kind of thing. It's strange to see either MAME or Arcade used in a title and to see E.J. standing below. It's not so bad with SMB3 Mario since he made an appearance in the PC cabs.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially if you have "MAME" in there.
