Please be sure to snap some shots - or better yet, video - of your completed project in action
(i.e. showing how classic arcade games look as well as console games - if that's what you will have on it, of course)

Only image I have currently of gameplay on burgertime.  I have a video posting to my flickr feed but it's also on facebook.

Moved the arcade into the house in our game room.  I'm extremely happy with how it turned out.  So far I mounted a button and connected it to the power button on the computer and I have 2 switches added on the back to control all power, and a switch to turn on and off the marquee.  Just waiting on artwork from gameongrafix to cut out the cp holes.  Any suggestions on mounting joysticks?  in 3/4" mdf do you need to recess when mounting underneath?

Also found this cool little keyboard for cheap at Fry's.  Wireless.

Which specific stick(s) are you asking about?

Two happ competition sticks and one sanwa 4way/8way with red ball top.  I tested just setting them up without recessing and they look really low.  I'm thinking I will need to cut about 1/4" out for recessed space.

I recessed out a 1/4 inch as a test and It feels pretty good.  That's probably what I'll go with.  Im gonna have to mount them with carriage bolts through the top though.   I bought an under mount kit, but I'm not gonna use it as the inserts are 1/2" and I don't like how they cause the MDF to swell when you screw them in.  Ordered some black carriage bolts off of ebay that should look fine.

Personally, I prefer things top mounted with carriage bolts. Looks more authentic.

Finally finished.  For the most part.  I wired everything up last night.  Easy to do but time consuming stripping all the wires.  I think the only thing I'm going to chage is to add some coin buttons to the front of the cabinet.  There is a hotkey way on the Ipac2 to add coins, but doesn't have a hotkey for coin2.  Which I found out last night on teenage mutant ninja turtles is needed.  I like not having all the admin buttons and wish I could get by without, but may have to add them in.

You can easily program a Coin 2 hotkey for that on the I-Pac2.

How do you program new hotkeys?  I'll check on the instructions online.

Just read up about it.  I'll have it done this afternoon and this baby will be complete, except for constantly downloading and adding new games and themes.

It'll never be "complete"

New update.... After having the cabinet now for 5- 6 months I decided I wanted to play the gun games like police trainer, area51, point blank, etc... So I ordered a set of blue and red from arcadeguns.com.  Was a little pricey, but they work pretty good once you get them setup properly.  I also added the sega model 2 emulator and troubleshooter 2 to play games like virtua cop and house of the dead.

Pics..

Screwed airsoft holsters into the side to hold the guns and also used furniture hole covers so I could run the wire out from the sides.  Also allows you to push the wire back in and keep everything clean looking when not in use.

Close up of the holster and furniture hole cover.
