Spinner Steering Wheels? Trackball games?
Someinterwebguy:
I would add Tac/Scan to the list of spinner games to try. Up there with Tempest in terms of addictive quality.

I used these guys' plans to build a BASIC, yet cost effective, racing setup.
Works great, but hogs some real estate in the basement.
The seat, along with the wheel, pedals, and shifter make up most of the cost.
They take their racing a little too seriously for my lifestyle, but they are absolutely awesome at what they do!
Regarding the spinner: Tron, And Forgotten Worlds are fun spinner games, but it is with Ivan Stewart's Off Road franchise where my spinner shines as a steering wheel (one player only of course). Arkanoid is the main reason why my spinner is in the dead center of my CP. I haven't yet figured out how to get a good 2600 emulator going but once I do, I really like to play some Kaboom!
Regarding the trackball: There is Missile Command, Crystal Castles, and some bowling variants. The golf games are also great and an uncountable number of Golden Tee's.

What problem are you having in getting a 2600 emulator working?

The videos in my signature might help you. I put short clips of most of the spinner and trackball games in action. The steering wheel spinner games are mixed in.

Spreadsheet from the driving cab info thread in the driving cab forum:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArE1chsgHXQodDd2ckdjLVY3Ujlad2tZWUpteDNtcXc&authkey=CIrIhMwE&hl=en&authkey=CIrIhMwE
All the ones that say 360 under the wheel column used a wheel that spun all the way around.
The ones that say POT used a potentiometer and were usually limited to 270 degrees of travel.
The spinner will still work with them, but the wheel turning farther than it should can result in it not feeling right.
There are three sheets to that spreadsheet. Some of the imperfect ones play just fine or have been promoted to good status since the spreadsheet was last updated.
This alteration to MAME popped up recently which is supposed to improve it, but I haven't used it.

Demon-Seed:
That is an awsome spreadsheet! Are there other ones like it for other categories? ie) Light gun? 4 player games? spinner? etc..... I find it hard to locate lists...
thanks
Jim
