Spinner Steering Wheels? Trackball games?
Demon-Seed:
Hey Guys,
I have never been a fan of spinners as there is only a few titles I would actually play, however I may have missed the boat, but I seen some spinners have a steering wheel attachment? I can only think of pole position game, what other games would support the attachment?
I have seen 6, 7" ones, do they make larger ones? is there a certain brand or website that is recommended? What are the good titles for spinner controls?
The other thing I was wondering about is trackballs. So many people use them however I do not seem to see any good games that use it? Any advise on that? what games are good?

A trackball opens up an incredible world of possibilities. There are lots of good trackball games and the trackball means that you can now use windows games and applications that needed a mouse to control them.
I am not a fan of the teeny steering wheels. If you want a driving cabinet then doing a separate cabinet is probably the best route. Dead drivers are often really cheap, so you could do the project up without spending much.

I used these guys' plans to build a BASIC, yet cost effective, racing setup.
Works great, but hogs some real estate in the basement.
The seat, along with the wheel, pedals, and shifter make up most of the cost.
They take their racing a little too seriously for my lifestyle, but they are absolutely awesome at what they do!
Regarding the spinner: Tron, And Forgotten Worlds are fun spinner games, but it is with Ivan Stewart's Off Road franchise where my spinner shines as a steering wheel (one player only of course). Arkanoid is the main reason why my spinner is in the dead center of my CP. I haven't yet figured out how to get a good 2600 emulator going but once I do, I really like to play some Kaboom!
Regarding the trackball: There is Missile Command, Crystal Castles, and some bowling variants. The golf games are also great and an uncountable number of Golden Tee's.

IIRC, RandyT mentioned that wheels larger than 7" may have too much leverage and may damage the spinner.
GGG (TT2) and Ultimarc (SpinTrak) both have spinners and wheels.

It is worth having a trackball just for centipede and millipede.
The irritating maze is also a fun trackball game.
