LunarLander in Mame/Mamewah
« on: November 17, 2003, 11:16:53 am »
Anyone have problems running Lunar Lander under Mamewah? Works OK in MAME32, but trying to run using MAMEWAH/Mame it locks up the whole PC when trying to load up.

Using the same ROM file etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

try setting the "Show Dos Box" to Yes or Auto

Agreed, it sounds like it has a bad/missing rom...

Why would a bad/missing ROM lock up the box?  Shouldn't it just report an error, state the error, and exit?

Because if you have thhe dos box to no it will hide the dos box.  When there is an error you usually have to press ok.  well, if it is hidden you won't be able to do that.

One, what OS are you running? ctrl-al-delete, click mame and end task will most likely fix your problem.  Try running the game form command line to see what happens.

Exactly.  The problem is that the message is displayed in the DOS box, before MAME goes fullscreen (the error isn't presented as per game warnings etc.).

Another fix which I used to do is compile your own MAME build which skips that part by itself :)
