Hello everyone!
I was thrilled to find this great bartop Arkanoid on Craig's list about a month or so ago for $200. It was way overpriced...but I really wanted it as it's one of my top 5 games that I've always wanted. Thankfully, because of its size- it was an easy sell for the wife to add to our basement arcade.
Anyway, the machine was physically a mess. It worked, but the control panel and every surface was literally caked up in dirt and grime. The plexi was scratched to death as were the insert coin bezels. The thing that concerned me the most was the frayed power cord and messed up old power supply though since this was going into my basement.
The spinner worked, but made "crunching" sounds. Thankfully- that was an easy fix.
Although I was able to restore the control panel art, I hated the look of it and the cheap original bezel. So I hired Scott over at MameMarquees.com to do some custom art. Scott had some immediate suggestions on a visual direction I never even considered-- but I was wise to listen to him.
He had a full set of custom art created for me, and after some minor back and forth, he printed and shipped what you see here. I love it! Nice job Scott all around.
Re the front panel-- the wood was rotted, so I cut a new piece and covered it in CPO material so that it had a nice laminated look that works well. The Tmolding is all new, and I have to tact it down a bit better, but overall I think it really came together.
I swapped out the coin mechs for new token mechs (I have everything running on tokens in my basement arcade), and cut some new plexi for the screen protector.
Ultimately, I replaced all of the following--
New buttons
New speaker
New bezel
New Tmolding
New Art
New power supply
New fuse/power cord
New front panel (the wood was rotted)
New insert coin buttons/bezels
New Token Mechs
New insert Token sticker
It also came with Tournament Arkanoid-- but I found an original Arkanoid board on EBay for $19 shipped so now I have both games.

Phew-- I think that's it!
I love it, and she's now living in my basement getting the time and attention that she deserves! I consider this little fun project officially done!
