Need some help with JoyToKey
« on: November 12, 2003, 05:41:50 pm »
I could use some help with JoyToKey.  I need to use it so that I can use MameWah(I did a gamepad hack).  Anyways, If I hold the joystick going one way and then stop pushing it that way, it acts like I'm still pushing it for a second or so.  It's really annoying.  Buttons don't always register either.  Should I just get another frontend and forget about using JoyToKey?  Is there a setting I'm missing?(in either mame or JoyToKey)

I had the same problem with a playstation joystick I was using with an PSX-USB adapter, but it happened without JoyToKey as well. I'm using JoyToKey now with a pair of USB gamepads without any trouble.

  • Resistance is... probably a good idea.

I did a little testing and was able to reproduce your problem. I think it you adjust your "threshold for input" under the "others" tab it may fix your problem. I have mine set to 50% if I set it to 0% (default I believe) I get the same problem.

Hope this helps!  ;D

About to go try it, it's currently set at 0%.  Thanks for the tip!

To everybody else, I was using Gravis Gamepad Pro's(gameport version) and they worked just fine before without JoyToKey.

I'll respond after I've tested it.

No, it seems like it may have helped a little, but it's still funky.  :(

I really don't know. The only other thing that comes to mind is adjusting your "automatic shooting" setting. Good luck...sorry I couldn't help more.
