Road map to arcade emulation on android
« on: March 13, 2014, 11:50:16 am »
Lets draw a road map to arcade emulation on android.  Chime in with what the risks, pot holes, and whatever you want to chime in on.

I'd like to make a "punch list" of things for folks to look for. I'd also like to have a place to share lessons learned.

Obviously, root access, or lack of root access would be a major point of consideration.

Stop trying to substitute the damn touch screen or gyro for the original controls. I get why any developer would want to, it's just an asinine thing to do. Improve support for standard joystick/keyboard. If the emulator can't run on older androids or phones, nothing would be lost.

Other than the usual suspects, I find The Cave worthy of a mention.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.
