Original XBox molex connectors
« on: June 01, 2013, 11:31:57 am »
Hi all.

I hope someone can lend a hand here, but I am trying to rig up a female USB cable direct to the Xbox motherboard, and although I have the option to solder straight to the connector, I would rather track down some of the female molex connectors that are used by the Xbox.

I am struggling to find the particular 'model' of molex connector and was hoping someone may be able to point me in the direction of a site that may see the particular connector needed (uk is preferable)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Gavin

Unfortunately we don't have RadioShack here in the UK, however I have checked it's nearest equivalent (Maplins) to no success.

Indeed they do, but they don't seem to do international shipping (although even their mainland US shipping cost more than the actual item) so will continue to look for a UK supplier.

Thanks for the reply though  ;)

Well yeah, but radioshack part numbers are kind of universal if you can find it on their site you can use the actual name/number of the part to find it on another site that will ship to you.

Yes we do.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

The 'molex' type connectors are made by hirose of Japan, they are 2.0mm pitch and are the same as the DVD plug in the xbox and xbox 360
I think the ones below are what you want, i haven't bought them to check though so up to yourself whether you buy that or a xbox dvd plug, you need to move 1 pin with the dvd cable
