Area 51 on MAME 148u5

Hello all, I recently compiled mame to avoid the nagging warning screens. I was on 145 and everything was fine except the warnings. When I swapped out to 148u5 the warning were gone, but now I have issues with games playing. So far I have found area 51 doesn't work on it for some reason. It gives the message that files are missing, but the chd is there just like it was in 145.

I was wondering if there's a know issue, or workaround? maybe I left something out in compile? I tried searching but haven't found any posts on this. I haven't tested many other games so I could have a lot more not working than just area 51.

I've already gone and got the 148 bios pack, but no change

Was there any changes to area 51 in the change log? If so you may need an updated rom?

I've been trying to find a specific version for 148 of area 51 rom and CHD but there doesn't seem to be. I tried with 146 and it doesn't work there either. So the change that keeps it from working is between 145 and 146. I've tried to recompile on 145 but it didn't work. the mr do's instructions are for 146 and higher.

Ok, found a 148 update and it works, so it was the version of the rom... SO now I get to download the whole 148 base set.

You will be happy you did. Then you know everything will work properly and rom versions match the MAME version.
