First Build, Nearly finished Help needed
BobA:
I cannot verify the wiring on the jamma harness to PS etc but if I were you I would forget about wiring the jamma harness to the power supply and just use a Molex connector like ones used with computer PS and provide the power directly to the board. The board will provide the power to whatever needs it viva the jamma connector. You can get the connector by cutting one off and old PC power supply or at your local PC parts store. The PC power connector on multi boards assumes that many users will be using a PC power supply not an arcade power supply.
mgb:
well now that you have the power supply how it is, you might as well keep it that way.
the wiring looks correct at least in the fact that you have black on common, red on +5v and yellow on 12v.
most of these modern boards don't need -5v (orange).
I would however verify that the +5v is adjusted correctly by using a multi meter to check the voltage at the jamma board where the power wires are.
you wanna see something like 5.1, 5.2volts there.
BobA:
I don't see an LED in the picture or a mention in the manual. Can you verify where the LED is on the board that is not turning on?
derbymanc:
Thanks for all the help, it's now up and running perfectly, turns out i didn't need the -5v (cheers mgb) i'm just cleaning it up and adding the glass and then i'll stick the photos up. Thanks again

That's great to hear.
I understand how frustrating it can be to be so close and have something like this not working.
Good job, hope you enjoy it.
