The History of Ocean Software - Kickstarter
« on: November 27, 2012, 06:16:51 pm »
I have a campaign running at the moment to raise the funds to produce a high quality book on Ocean Software - these are the guys that produced Daley Thompson's Decathlon, Hunchback, Wizball etc.

I would be really grateful if you took a look at the campaign here : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/47744432/the-history-of-ocean-software-by-retro-fusion?ref=home_location
and place a pledge or just like and tweet so your friends can take a look

Cheers.

Thanks for sharing the info on your Kickstarter campaign.

I definitely loved the old "Battle for Santa's Software" documentary showing the development of Hunchback II.

No doubt I would love to read this biography as well!

I used to love all the Ocean games I had for my C64. I owned at High Noon.  8)

I love that you are covering Martin Galway in this. He is absolutely my favorite C64 musician. His music from Parallax, Wizball and Comic Bakery are must listen to C64 music. Anytime I am within an eyeshot of a piano or keyboard, I instinctively go to it and play the opening notes to the Parallax theme.  ;)

Exactly! And don't forget his work on Rastan. Those were some great tunes as well!

Ocean was well known for releasing games that were bug ridden in the C64.  I hope that gets discussed in detail.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

Some of their Speccy games were absolutely pap, but i do have some fond memories of some of them and imagine games, mostly Jonathon Smith(Frobush) games i admit.. The covers by Bob Wakelin were brilliant, best games artist would be between him and Crash/Zzap64 magazines Oliver Frey (imho)
