Finished the Smooth Fighter Panel(in)

well finally its assembled. Note there are no bolt or screw heads protruding. Flat head allen style bolts were used, as I can't stand bolt heads sticking up.
 This is a metal panel as well. GAME ON!

Clean, NIVO!  What did you cover it with, overlay, paint, power coat?

thanks guys. Kelsey, I used Marine-grade vinyl. Picked some up at JoAnne Fabric stores. I bought some good adhesive spray they had as well. Applied to metal panel, sprayed on the vinyl backing, waited till it got tacky, then put it on. Used clamps to help secure it in place. The results are much better than the picture shows. Not to mention side benefits like the padded feel you get from it. Also, the texture is very nice, cleans up so easy, leaves no finger prints. The thickness of it really helps dampen the "tinny" sound from clicking the buttons on the metal panel. All in all, Im personally very satisfied with it. Game On!

It looks really good.  From the way the light reflected on it, it almost looked like a power coat finish in the pic.  A good vinyl overlay is nice on a metal panel, it keeps it from feeling too cold when you play on it.

Do you find you can play for a decent period of time without much room to rest your wrists? Maybe you just have stronger wrists/forearms than me

hehe, usually its my poor ole back that needs rest. A chair does more good than anything else. The cab isnt totally finished still, Work in progress, I will get a pic of it on the cab when I can. Thanks for the kind words.

ok fellas I have now grabbed a pic showing what it looks like on the cab. I feel this shot puts the panel more into perspective. Now if I can keep myself from putting the monitor in until near the end. All you guys that said to build the panel last is correct. I am so tempted to just play for hours, but alas the cab wont ever get done if I do that heheh. Oops, perhaps adding the new pic would help LOL!
