Retro gaming on old Sony PVM monitor: Best connection/cables?

Complete noob here.  I've recently come upon one of those nice little 13" studio monitors (Sony PVM-1380) and was wondering what I would need to get the best image quality out of a Sega Genesis. 

It has two BNC inputs (shown in the pic below).

Really appreciate the help.  I'm in the U.S.

Those are ordinary composite video inputs, which isn't really any good when it comes to quality. Way better than using the antenna signal of course.
I was hoping that the "VTR" connector had som RGB input, which would be the best. But unfortunately it seems to be a parallel input to Line B, but with the audio signal combined.

Anyway, connect pin 1 (Composite) and 2 (GND) from the Genesis A/V connector any Video in BNC on the monitor.
The audio signal is from pin 3 and that should go to the audio input at the monitor (with ground of course).

Appreciate the response.  Looks like many of these Sony PVM's had RGB inputs, which is what I'm looking for.  Guess the 1380 was the bare bones/basic model.  Thanks!

This is still a good monitor.  Generally the composite video connection on these will look a bit better than on most other displays. 

Purchase a BNC>Phono adapter and try it out:



In my opinion these monitors make the NES look the best you will ever see it.
